ProTee United B.V. announced today its ProTee Golf Simulator 2005, a
state-of-the-art golf 3-D simulation system that connects to a PC.
The Golf Simulator features graphic views, synthetic grass and accurate light
sensors to re-create the smallest details. Results are projected in real-time
either onto a computer monitor or a large projection screen. The display shows a
virtual driving range or a virtual 18-hole golf course with bunkers, trees and
water obstacles.
You can built the complete system piecemeal. The basic system includes advanced
simulation software as well as a high-quality sensor mat connectable to a
high-speed computer. Additional modules offer extra sensors, extra golf courses,
a hitting cage, projectors and more.
Use your own favorite clubs and choose to play soft or hard-cover balls or no
ball at all. Any choice will be accommodated by the software set up. Play the
ball from the sensor mat and hit into a net or against a screen. Where the ball
actually touches the screen, the simulation software takes over and shows your
ball sailing down the course. Every swing, chip, pitch or putt will be followed
up by new and detailed analyses.
Prices vary from $2,000 to $25,000.
The company says it will launch a multi-user software application by the end of
2005 that will enable multiple users to play over the Internet.
In the near future software will become available to simulate real existing golf
courses, according to ProTee.More Personal Tech Insights
